FACILITIES MASTER PLAN
THROGGS NECK, NEW YORK

This Facilities Master Plan covered space utilization and space management, existing facilities, academic planning for physical space needs, project justification and description and project prioritization for 31 buildings and over 700,000 SF.  The work is broken down into five phases: campus profile; assessment of conditions; analysis of space needs; concept alternatives; and final recommendations.

Services included examining existing conditions of the MEP systems, reviewing available material (i.e., previous reports and survey forms) regarding the physical condition of the campus facilities and infrastructure, and meeting with SUNY Maritime’s staff to discuss infrastructure conditions and needs.  A report was prepared outlining preliminary assessment of the existing MEP systems.

Design concept alternatives phase, L&J developed three concept alternatives for the 10 year Facilities Master Plan.  Included in these alternatives are facilities renovations, building additions and new buildings with consideration for sustainable design and phasing.  Once the alternative or hybrid alternative was selected, the final recommended alternative was fully developed.  The final selected alternative included phasing and project budget.
