DOTY HALL RENOVATION
GENESEO, NEW YORK

Doty Hall provides a welcoming new “front door” for the College at Geneseo.  The building provides new space for the President’s Office, Admissions, International Student Services, College Advancement, and other administrative functions. In addition, the school’s former gymnasium has been transformed into a state-of-the art recital hall for the Department of Music, and the entrance tower has become a double-height meeting space.

The project involved the renovation of the 76,000 SF, Doty Hall building into the 21st century home of Admissions, International Student Services, College Advancement, administrative offices, as well as, the Small Business Development and Micro Outreach Centers. The building’s updated systems include 144 geothermal wells to provide heating and cooling and rainwater harvesting to mitigate stormwater runoff and supply water for some plumbing needs.

Electrical system design included one 2,000 amp 265/460V service, one 400 KW emergency generator, as well as fire alarm, communication, and security systems.

Plumbing and fire protection system design included domestic water system, cold water, hot water and hot water return, sanitary waste and vent system, low flow fixtures, natural gas system, rainwater harvesting system, underground drainage system and sump pumps, fire protection standpipe system including wet and dry sprinkler systems.
