The Catskill-Delaware Ultraviolet Disinfection Facility is a 160,000 SF ultraviolet water disinfection plant built in Westchester County, New York to disinfect water for the New York City water supply system. The plant is the largest water disinfection plant in the world and will treat 2.2 billion gallons of water per day to New York City.

On the site, L&J provided preliminary design for plumbing and fire protection systems which included: system definition, site surveys, system design criteria, equipment selection and sizing, system layout, flow diagrams, outline specifications and other requirements adequate for the preparation of reliable cost estimates and for proceeding directly with the bidding documents.

Final design of the plumbing and fire protection systems included: complete and detailed final contract drawings and specifications, associated bid documents for designed building systems, and review of cost estimates. Final documents were coordinated with all trades.

The entire project was produced and coordinated using AutoCAD and converted to AutoCAD MEP model for clash detection.

This project received the Diamond Award, Water Resources from the American Council of Engineering Companies.
