RRENOVATION & ADDITION
GRAHAMSVILLE, NEW YORK

The Delaware District Office of the NYC Department of Environmental Protection was subject to a comprehensive rehabilitation/renovation program that addressed issues within the laboratory, garage, and new construction addition. The program will feature state-of-the-art laboratory and administrative facilities for about 45 DEP staff members.

Originally the building was constructed in the 1950s, however failure to meet modern-day OSHA standards, as well as a required space shortage, led to the program initiative. The existing building was rehabilitated and altered to provide dedicated administrative space, while the 13,000 SF addition will house the laboratory area, and a new 4,000 SF garage area will store services vehicles.

HVAC system design included the replacement of the existing boiler plant and addition of a supplemental hot water heating system, new rooftop AC unit to provide air-conditioning for addition, new ventilation system to support functions of four state-of-the-art laboratories, as well as, hot water heating, and CO2 requirements in the garage.
